আমারা অনেকেই নানা কাজে PDF ফাইল ব্যবহার করে থাকি। ওয়ার্ড ফাইল গুলোর উপর খুব বেশি ভরসা করা যায় না। আপনার অনেক মূল্যবান তথ্যসহ ওয়ার্ড ডকুমেন্টগুলো প্রায়ই দৃশ্যত কোন কারন ছাড়াই ব্যবহারের অনুপযোগী হয়ে যেতে পারে। আমি এ রকম অনেক বার ভুগেছি।
আর এ সমস্যার অন্যতম একটি সমাধান PDF। PDF এর মত এত সুস্থির ফাইল ফরমেট খুব কমই আছে। তথ্য আর্কাইভ করার ক্ষেত্রে PDF খুবই উপযোগী। কারন এ ফাইল সহজে নষ্ট হয় না এবং ফ্রি PDF viewer সফটওয়ার ডাউনলোড করে সবাই পড়তে পারে।
PDF  ফাইল আপনার তথ্যের নিরাপত্তা দেবে ঠিকই কিন্তু এর কিছু খারাপ দিকও আছে। এ ধরনের ফাইলের সবচেয়ে বড় সমস্যা হল এটা Edit করা।
PDF ফাইল ফ্রি পড়ার জন্য বাজারে অনেক সফটওয়ার পাওয়া গেলেও এটা Edit করার সফটওয়ারগুলো ফ্রিতে পাওয়া যায় না। এ ধরনে সফটওয়ার ফ্রি পাওয়া গেলেও Edit করার সকল ধরনের সুযোগ সুবিধা পাওয়া যায় না।
